Abstract: In the second decades following the disastrous earthquake of 1908, the city of Reggio Calabria was the object of an entire program of reconstruction, realized according to some rational plans and with the idea of organizing the urban pattern. The techniques used, according to the anti-seismic rules, afterwards issued, were contrasting, in fact various constructive logics were used, including reinforced masonry and the construction of the wooden-masonry frames, used immediately after the earthquake. The contribution intends to show the results of some diagnostic investigations carried out on the latter building types, with special attention to wooden elements, aiming to define possible scenarios to apply the investigation instruments, to integrate them, to verify their potentialities and limits, in reference to the possibility of recognition constructive techniques and evaluation residual behavioral capabilities.
