Prof. Vandewalle’s interview
 
Prof. Lucie Vandewalle, Emeritus Professor at KU Leuven, Belgium, was the recipient of the Robert L'Hermite Medal in 1990 and in 1994 she became Chair of the RILEM Technical Committee 162-TDF: Test and design methods for steel fibre reinforced concrete. This interview is a leap in the past of RILEM, enjoy!

 

 

New RYC members
 
The RILEM Youth Council (RYC) welcomes two new members: Areej Gamieldien, PhD Candidate at the University of Cape Town, and Dr Niki Trochoutsou, MSCA Postdoctoral Fellow at the Politecnico di Milano. More info here!

 

 

Concreep deadlines
 
The paper submission deadline of CONCREEP 12 is now pushed to 31 March! The organisers have heard the requests for more time to work on abstracts/papers and they hope that these extra weeks help. Early Bird Registration Deadline is 1 April 2024!

 

 

ICC
 
The fifth edition of the ITALIAN CONCRETE CONFERENCE (ICC) will take place on 19-21 June 2024 in Florence, Italy. RILEM is happy to co-sponsor this event that will be an opportunity to keep up with new scientific research on materials and technologies related to structural concrete and building industrialization.

 

 

Magnel Gold Medal 2024
 
The Association of Engineers graduated from Ghent University has the pleasure to announce the “Magnel Gold Medal 2024’ Award”. The medal is awarded to the designer(s) or design office of a structure that is made of reinforced and/or prestressed concrete, and is completed in the period 2019-2023.
