Air pockets made of recycled plastic have been incorporated within the concrete slabs of two 13-storey buildings in Germany. The air bubbles have been inserted in non-load-bearing areas of the slabs. This technique has prevented an estimated 136 tonnes of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere. More information here.
