... Manfred N. PARTL, Rilem Honorary member for his long-time Asphalt Material commitment within Rilem, member of  RILEM Development Advisory Committee (DAC), Associate Editor for RILEM Materials and Structures and affiliated as Prof with KTH, Stockhol, and Carleton University, Ottawa, has shared his thoughts on future research trends in a recent RILEM Technical Letter? The letter deals with the «Quest for improving service life of asphalt roads» based on selected examples of Asphalt Pavement Research at Empa, Switzerland, and KTH, Sweden, and is intended as inspiration for young and experienced researcher to venture out-of-the-box thinking in asphalt materials research.
