RILEM has a long record of TCs working on timber subjects, from testing methods to seismic performance, from fracture to creep, from in-situ assessment to reinforcement in existing structures. Active TC TPT : Tests methods for a reliable characterization of resistance, stiffness and deformation properties of timber joints is currently inviting experts to join in. Carbon-sucking machine
 
It is in Iceland, and it draws down a volume of CO2 emissions equivalent to about 870 cars. CO2 is filtered, mixed with water and sent to underground wells where it changes from gas to solid phase.  More info here!
