Split wooden rods

Burgert, I.; Kegel, S.; Schnider, T.; Achatz, J.; Stucki, S.; Schubert, M. Split Wooden Rods for Novel Wood-Based Boards in the Construction Sector. RILEM Tech Lett 2024, 9, 30-35 is the new OPEN ACCESS paper published in RILEM Tech Lett. This conceptual article proposes a new wood separation and processing method to answer the call for innovation in this sector.

Navigability of Design Standards

Rogers, C.; Harries, K. . Leveraging Network Analysis to Improve Navigability of Design Standards. RILEM Tech Lett 2024, 9, 17-29: this study found that network analysis is useful for identifying, understanding, and mitigating navigational complexity within a building design standard. It is an OPEN ACCESS paper in RILEM Tech Lett.

Fractal thermal conductivity models

Janssen, H. Discussion of “Thermal Conductivity of Porous Building Materials: An Exploration of New Challenges in Fractal Modelling solutions”. RILEM Tech Lett 2024, 9, 10-16 is a new OPEN ACCESS paper in RILEM Tech Lett that demonstrates that “physical factors” typically comprised in fractal-geometry-based thermal conductivity models degrade these models from predictive to calibratable.
