Longevity of cement-mortar lined (CML) iron pipe
Recent tests have shown that the cement-mortar lining put in a 97-year old 8-in. iron pipeline, in Charleston, South Caroline, USA, has provided outstanding service! These tests have highlighted the benefit of such lining over nearly one century of service. The lining improves the quality of the water by preventing the pipe from experiencing oxidative reactions and it helps to reduce the energy required to pump water through the pipe by improving its hydraulic character.
