Abstract: Concept and procedures of environment-conscious life-cycle design are proposed and reported, for building structural composite materials, and / or components such as steel reinforced concrete (RC), and continuous fiber reinforced concrete (FRPRC) for their total life cycle of production, construction, in-service, demolition, recycling / reuse / disposal, paying special attention to the harmony of long service life with ecobalance performance, including comaterials technology and materials efficiency for design for demanded performance.
Methods of prediction of service life, ecobalance indicators for life cycle assessment (LCA), and materials efficiency indicators (MEI) are proposed and discussed.
