Abstract: A total of 164 houses were examined to collect detailed information about moisture damage.
Data about each obsented damaged area was recorded according to a checklist. Moisture observations were classified according to eleven variables, characterising damaged areas for location, size, duration, repair situation, severity and type of the damaged material. Five health symptom score variables were formed based on a self-administered questionnaire data, collected from the occupants of the houses. The relationship between moisture damage characteristics and health outcomes was studied. These results indicate that more accurate methods in characterising moisture damage and its intensity should be developed.
