Abstract: This paper present strategies for maintaining and repairing concrete structures included in a manual that is being developed within the European research project REHABCON1. The scope of the manual is the integration of existing assessment methodologies in the repair strategies of concrete structures.The Manual will include a methodology for the selection of the best repair option based on technical and economical aspects. It also includes information about different repair techniques with references to the existing materials and repair techniques and recommendations not only about execution works but also about control, safety during and after execution, performance assessment and maintenance of the repaired structure and environmental or economic factors.The methodology for the selection of the best repair option and the alternative repair materials and systems options are validated in some cases studies in different countries, covering different aspects such as durability, structural behaviour, execution of work, environmental and economy.
