Abstract: Satisfactory structural performance of Fibre Reinforced Shotcrete (FRS)in applications such as tunnel linings is dependent on an ability to support load after cracking.
At present, both beam and panel specimens are used to measure the post-crack flexural capacity of this material.
Although these tests have been widely used to develop improved fibres and FRS mix designs, the relationship between performance data produced in beam and panel tests is unclear.
This investigation was therefore undertaken to examine possible correlations in behaviour between beam and panel specimens and determine which was the most appropriate type of test for a given FRS application.
