Abstract: Three new attempts to improve the durability of structures with a use of fiber concrete are presented. They are: to prevent desintegration of concrete structures due to high temperatures by adding organic fibers into the concrete; to prevent corrosion of reinforcing bars in the mortar by allowing the corrosion process of fibers to consume oxygen; and to improve the durability of a railway bridge with an application of steel fiber lightweight concrete.
