Abstract: Using the test results obtained and the evaluation approaches applied, the behaviour of thin concrete layers with textile reinforcement for strengthening of RC members within the anchoring range is being discussed. Different possible failure modes of the bonding system are presented. Several special properties of the textile reinforced finegrade concrete strengthening layer are explained in detail, e. g. the non-linearity of Young's modulus, as a result of crack formation within the strengthening layer, and they are compared with strengthening layers made of steel or CFRP. The resulting properties of bond between the basic material of the old concrete and the strengthening layer are derived. Hence it is shown that it becomes necessary to extend existing models accordingly. A feasible evaluation approach is presented.
