Abstract:
The basic properties of nano-SiO2 are introduced first in this paper, and then the article does careful research on the effects of nano-SiO2 on the paste fluidity, the setting time, compressive and bending strength and microcosmic structure of Portland cement. The effect mechanism is analyzed with the microscopic methods of X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scan Electronic Microscope (SEM). The experimental results show that nano-SiO2 has nicer adaptability to Portland cement and can improve its microstructure and macroscopical properties. Its optimal content is 5%-6% of the weight of cement. We believe that the properties of HPC (High Performance Concrete) will be more excellent if some nano-SiO2 is added to it.
