Abstract: Science & Innovation Growth is an obvious target for societies, companies and individuals alike.
Among the most important drivers for growth are the creation of new understanding of mechanisms science and the creation of new products, processes and services innovation.
Science and innovation are cornerstones in the creation of growth, and in particular to make the growth sustainable.
RILEM is playing a role in this context.
We create networks among researchers, research units and frontline companies to advance understanding, knowledge and expertise to promote the development of the construction sector.
Working within an applied science we have two obvious directions to consider.
One is to make use of new findings within basic science.
To understand the fundamentals of matter is a key to breakthroughs.
The other is towards those developing new products, processes and services.
This is where we meet our customers.
Dialogue and cooperation with industry, clients, authorities, and society at large are all important facets of RILEM work.
Through this dialogue, researchers better understand relevant customer criteria and improve the possibilities to disseminate results matching the needs in the sector.
This present publication is underlining the effort of RILEM to reach out to actors in the sector through adding value in innovation processes.
By strengthening this dialogue, our focus on relevant and valuable research work will also be strengthened.
