Abstract: This paper illustrated a closed-loop controlled automatic curing system based on pore water under pressure (PWP) measurement of the surface layer of fresh concrete. Using 2kPa as the upper threshold the surface PWP could be controlled within the range of 0-2kPa from the time of casting through the whole course of early-age hardening automatically. Experimental results indicated that the proposed method not only avoided early age cracking for fresh concrete exposed to severe water evaporation condition, but also provided a physical strengthening method for the surface layer and improved the durability of concrete effectively.
