Abstract:
It is demonstrated that pore structure in cement-based materials presents unique fractal property by various experimental methods. In this paper, fractal theory is employed to study pore size distribution and pore tortuosity in the cement paste, respectively. Moreover, a fractal model is proposed to analysis the relationship between the electrical impedance response and fractal dimension in cement-based materials. This model is based on classical transmission line equivalent circuit, in which each discrete electrical component (resistance, capacitance or inductance) has own physical meaning. This model provides an alternative way to investigate the pore structure using the electrical impedance approach for cement-based materials.
