Abstract:
Post-cracking behaviour in uniaxial tension of MFRC constitutes the principal mechanical characteristic required for performing numerical analysis with this type of materials. This mechanical characteristic is obtained from a uniaxial tensile test performed on notched specimens. In this paper is studied the possible scale effect related to this mechanical characteristic. To achieve this objective, nine specimens per three different specimen diameter and per three different MFRC mix designs are tested (81 specimens in total). The mean conclusion obtained is that there is no significant scale effect on the uniaxial tension post-cracking behaviour of MFRC (average post-cracking curves).
