Abstract:
In this study some experimental programs were carried out to investigate the influence of application of polyolefin fibers on plastic shrinkage cracks, drying shrinkage, and restrained shrinkage of mortar under laboratory.
A mortar mix was evaluated at two different polyolefin fiber contents and without fibers. The test results show that adding polyolefin fibers to the mortar mix can arrest plastic shrinkage cracks and cause a decrease in drying shrinkage whereas they affect the flexural strength slightly.
