Abstract: This work deals with a numerical approach about the calculation of mechanical and energy fields in the time domain for the crack growth study. A linear viscoelastic modelling, based on the finite element method, is coupled with the new path independent integral Gqv. Considering the release energy stored in each elastic properties characterized by springs, this integral allows to determine the viscoelastic energy release rate separating the free energy and the viscous dissipation in the material. A numerical application allows to appreciate the effects of the loading frequency on the fracture parameter evolution versus time or cycle number.
