Abstract: Indian mix specifications have been evolved only from volumetric considerations and require a review from their fatigue performance as well. The present study consists of fatigue testing on Bituminous Concrete (BC) mix (as per Indian specification) and other non-standard gradations. Fatigue tests are conducted at 4-point constant strain mode on 140 rectangular beam samples (size 380 mm × 80 mm× 80 mm) made up of BC mix, with a pre-fabricated crack of size 2mm× 4mm at the bottom. Sinusoidal loading is applied until the full failure of sample i.e. when the crack reached to the top surface. The crack propagation is observed with respect to the number of repetitions and validated with theoretical models. Conventional BC is found to show satisfactory fatigue performance compared to other non-standard mix proposed.
