Abstract:
Nowadays, concrete is the most widely used construction material in the world, being used in construction industry in a way that we can observe ever-increasing annual concrete accompanying development of construction all over the world. Enhancing construction and increasing demand result in establishment of the first ready- mixed concrete plants. Production volume of ready- mixed concrete has been increased in our country, I.R. Iran in many years ago whether being major shortcoming in its plants.
Materials used to produce concrete, play significant role in final quality of fresh and hardened concrete. Therefore, implementation of quality management system of materials in plants is essential. This research has been conducted based on results obtained by evaluation of eight ready- mixed concrete plants. In the already performed evaluations, existing shortcomings of raw materials of concrete and quality control units has been investigated including, inspection and analysis of tests' results examined on materials and produced concrete. As a result, implementation essentials of quality control systems of ready- mixed concrete production plants have been also indicated.
