Abstract: When a TiO2 captures ultraviolet light (UV), it forms activated oxygen from water or oxygen in the air. The formed activated oxygen is strong enough to oxidize and decompose organic materials or smelling gas, and kill bacteria. While, we succeeded in finding a novel function on the photocatalyst called super-hydrophilicity. The super-hydrophilic surface exhibits anti-fouling and anti-fogging property so that the super-hydrophilic function should expand new applications of photocatalyst.

To apply photocatalyst in practical use, realization of TiO2 film forming method and hybrid function in combination with other functional materials that supplement the characteristics of the photocatalytic reaction are highly important.
This paper focuses on the development of photocatalyst tile and considers trends in the technologies for practical use and development of photocatalyst applied products.
