Abstract: Demountable concrete structures are one way of sustainable construction. The design should be such that a completely dry mounting is possible and that all parts can be recovered and reused after demounting. Tests have been carried out on aluminum foam which is used as a core material for shear keys between precast concrete slabs. The paper shows the suitability of the material with respect to the mechanical requirements and also to the fire resistance.
