Abstract: This paper aims at focusing on the opportunities arising by using waste materials coming from different manufacturing activities in geo-environmental applications. Three kinds of waste were identified: marble sludge, coming from marble manufacturing, cement kiln dust and steel slags. The use of the mentioned waste was proposed in the urban solid waste landfills cover layers according to the new directions of the European rules [1].
