Abstract: The response of an intze tank with un-braced, single inclined bracing and cross-braced staging configurations have been studied by comparing the base shear, overturning moment and displacement with height of the staging and soil type as parameters. The models have been analyzed using finite element software STAAD.Pro and in accordance with IS 1893 (part 2). Although a significant change in the response of the tank due to the addition of inclined bracings had been found when compared to the unbraced staging, the difference between the base shear and overturning moment of single inclined bracing system and cross- braced inclined staging system was found to be insignificant.
