Abstract: Atomized steel slag aggregate is produced by new technology in steel making process. It exhibits an improved resistance to chemical and physical deterioration and hence is maintained at its original stable state. The shape of atomized steel slag aggregate is sphere, and maximum size is 5mm. From the aggregate tests, atomized steel slag aggregate is suitable for concrete. Unfortunately, atomized steel slag aggregate has high specific gravity in compare with sand. Therefore, self compacting concrete incorporating atomized steel slag aggregate must be different in fresh and hardened concrete to conventional self compacting concrete. First the fresh self compacting concrete incorporating atomized steel slag aggregate is compared with conventional self compacting concrete. The slump flow, slump flow time at 500mm, V funnel time and U box test are conducted. Then the strength of self compacting concrete incorporating atomized steel slag aggregate is compared with the conventional self compacting concrete. The self compacting concrete with and without atomized steel slag aggregate are all much the same in the fresh and hardened properties..
