Abstract: This paper presents an experimental research on bond behaviour of deformed reinforcing bars in Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC). A comparative analysis between SCC and normal concrete (NC) in bond behaviours was conducted. The results of pull-out tests on 30 pieces of standard specimens indicate: that bond strength between reinforcement and SCC is higher than that between reinforcements and NC; existing design rules of bond behaviours between reinforcing bars and concrete in China are applicable to SCC; pull-out tests of another 4 specimens with strain gauges inside reinforcement bars show the distributing status of the location-dependent bond stresses along the bond length.
