Abstract: Combining with the technology of self-compacting concrete, self-stressing concrete and concrete-filled steel tube, we can get self-compacting & self-stressing concrete-filled steel tube. This new kind of structure can solve self-stressing concrete restrained from insufficient, concrete drying shrinkage and creep resulting the strength degradation problem for a long time, and can overcome the shortcoming of arch and long column construction difficultly, make the quality of concrete filled in steel tube get the assurance. This paper presents an experimental research on the basic mechanical performance of this kind of structure through 26 self-compacting & self-stressing concrete-filled steel tubes subjected to axial compression. Test results indicate that self-compacting & self-stressing concrete becomes compact with the restrain of steel tube. The elastic range of self-compacting & self-stressing concrete-filled steel tubes is obvious longer than conventional concrete-filled steel tubes, and load carrying capacity has also been improved to a certain degree.
