Abstract: Based on linear polarization resistance (LPR) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements of steel electrodes in chloride solution, two kinds of mulriple organic corrosion inhibitors (OCI) were selected with excellent anticorrosion performance. Then experiments to evaluate the fluidity of grouting material mixed with the OCI and the electrochemical behaviors of steel bars emplaced in duct grouting specimens mixed with 0.5% or 0.75% (wt.) NaCl were carried out. Test results indicated that the No.1 inhibitor reduced the fluidity of cement paste while showed nice protective performance for steel in specimens, and the No.2 inhibitor not only improved the fluidity of cement paste significantly but showed more credible capability to protect rebars in a certain chloride condition. The surface analysis of steel treated by the main components of the selected OCIs was studied by AFM. Protective film is obviously shown on the steel surface in the AFM images. Engineering application in a duct grouting for incline cables project showed the inhibitors can be effective to improve the performance of construction and durability of incline cables.
