Abstract: High pore pressure is one of the most important factors that lead to spalling in concrete, especially for high-strength concrete (HSC) and self-consolidating concrete (SCC). This paper gives an overview of recent literatures on the pore pressure measurement in HSC and SCC. The use of PP fibers and steel-PP hybrid fibers in HSC and SCC is also included in this overview. Further discussion and comparative analysis of experimental results on the pore pressure measurement are presented. Moreover, some research prospects focus on the pore pressure and spalling of SCC and fiber-reinforced SCC at high temperature areinferred in this overview.
