Abstract: This paper investigates bending and shear behavior of thin plates made with reactive powder concrete (RPC), reinforced with 3D fiberglass textile fabrics. The mix design of the reactive powder (RPC) is to find the appropriate proportion of RPC. The 3D textile fabric was made by alkali-resistant glass fibers. The PRC mix proportion was first optimized based on compression tests on sixteen orthogonal experimental trial mixes. Bending and shear tests were conducted on thin plates made with the optimized RPC mix and 3D fiberglass textile fabrics. The 3D textile fabric was fixed in thin plate, which was 400mm x 100mm x25mm in diameter. The first experimentwas four-points bending tests, compared RPC thin plates with 3D textile fabric plate. Another experiment was double shear tests, which contained two groups of specimens. The comparisons with two thin plates suggest that the plates with 3D textile performanced better. The test results indicate that 3D fiberglass textile reinforcement
significantly improves both bending and shear strength of RPC thin plate. But neither toughness nor ductility seemed changing significantly by textile reinforcement. All the experimental data would be used to discuss the basic principle of 3D fibre concrete mechanical calculations. In addition, RPC should be considered as a perspective, promising high performance concrete matrix in FRP in future.
