Abstract: The paper describes a new test method which can be used to evaluate the acid resistance of sewer pipe concrete mixtures. A dynamic test is employed that simulates the highly acidic conditions encountered in some sewers. Measurements involve rates of mass loss and hydrogen ion consumption of the concrete samples. Results indicate that the test is able to distinguish between different sewer pipe concrete mixtures, by reflecting both the physical and chemical properties of the concretes.
