Abstract: This study was conducted as part of the submerged floating tunnel (SFT) for the “Ferry-free coastal route E39” project by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (NPRA). The aim of the project is to represent the condition, the concrete shell of SFT under a combination of fire and explosive loads, and for the calibration of the developed numerical model for the analysis of SFT. A laboratory experiment was designed by using shock tube to apply blast load to a series of RC slabs, after heated in a burner according to ISO 834 fire curve. A numerical simulation was conducted to develop modelling strategy for RC structures under such extreme loading condition and calibrated by the laboratory experiment. The influence of high temperature on material properties of concrete, reinforcing steel as well as the stiffness
and strength of slab structures were investigated.
