Abstract: Among nanostructured materials, aerogels are very promising candidates for super-insulation applications. Within this paper, we present a brief overview of what are aerogels, what are our recent progress at Ecole des Mines de Paris on super-insulating aerogels and – as an illustration in the building area – part of an energetic interest analysis of aerogel glazing.
