Abstract: This paper reviews the research results on the durability and stability of UHPC materials.
By analyzing the experimental data of frost resistance, chloride ion permeation resistance and
carbonation resistance of UHPC, it is found that the single factor has little influence on UHPC
durability, even negligible. Multi-factor coupling has a great influence on the compressive
strength of UHPC, but it still maintains good durability. The compressive strength can be used
as an evaluation index of UHPC durability, while the mass loss is not suitable. When UHPC
suffers from multi-factor coupling, the role of invasive media and the rehydration of
unhydrated cement are the main reasons that affect the durability of UHPC. It is critical to
screen suitable UHPC durability evaluation index by focusing on the intrusion of external
media and rehydration process. UHPC has attracted widespread attention from the civil
engineering industry for its superior strength and durability. In order to fully reflect the ultra-
high performance value of UHPC, it is necessary to match its excellent mechanical
performance and durability through a complex working environment. At present, there are
relatively few studies on the durability of UHPC subjected to multi-factor coupling. Scholars
should carry out more such research, which lays a theoretical foundation for the promotion of
UHPC applications in harsh engineering environments.
