Abstract: In this paper an analysis of electrical response of hardened cement paste is examined at radio frequencies (RF) varying between 150 kHz and 900 kHz. Input voltage in the form of a square pulse waveform is imposed on the material and output signals are analyzed in frequency domain. Tests are performed on hardened cement paste sample with water to cement ratio (w/c) of 0.35. The samples are conditioned to various saturation degrees and their electrical responses are analyzed. The real and imaginary parts of the ratio of the output to input voltage are analysed to investigate the behaviour of the material. Dependency of electrical response on the moisture saturation state is observed through a systematic variation of the real and imaginary parts of the voltage ratio with degree of saturation and frequency.
