Abstract: The study is devoted to the superficial morphological evolution in transitional phases of a cement mortar surface at early ages during solidification. In order to better understand the complex process of solidification, and therefore the serviceability of cement-based materials, the measured morphologies are analyzed at different stages. The study validates the capability of portable non-contact 3D LASER scanning techniques to determine superficial morphological transitional phases during the early age of cement mortar surface morphogenesis. The most pertinent discoveries, in the form of 3D isometric morphological visualizations and areal directionally depended topography, are discussed. Four transitional phases have been depicted.
