Abstract: The objective of this paper is to investigate the effect of wet curing on the performance of a pozzolan based self-compacting concrete under hot weather conditions. The cement was substituted with pozzolan by weight at two substitution levels (15% and 25%). Two curing methods were applied in this study. A wet cure in a standard environment (HR = 100% and T = 20 ± 2 oC) and a cure under open air on the laboratory terrace in a North African area during the summer period (T varies from 35 to 40 °C and RH varies from 65 to 70%) after an initial wet cure of 0, 1, 3, 7, 14 or 28 days. The experimental results show the importance of wet curing in hot climates, especially when pozzolan is used. Substitution of cement with pozzolan improves the long-term sustainability of SCC.
