Abstract: The hydration of fly ash blended with ordinary Portland cement (OPC) is generally studied, it is difficult to obtain
conclusive results on the reactions of fly ash. In order to accelerate the hydration of OPC mixed with fly ash, the
aluminosilicate glasses of the fly ash must be destroyed. The concentrations of sodium hydroxide solution, used as alkaline
condition materials, were 0 and 1.0 M. The leaching concentrations of calcium, aluminium, and silicon ions were measured
by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy. To confirm the reaction products formed by the leached ions
with Ca(OH)2, X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and thermogravimetry–differential thermal
analyses were conducted.
