Abstract: Drying concrete structures present inner humidity gradient. The local water content affects the shrinkage and creep behavior of the concrete, as well as the gas permeability of the structure. This paper aims at studying the effect of the prediction of the humidity profile on the gas permeability of concrete. Based on measurement of the mass loss of concrete samples subject to drying, several sets of parameters are determined. These parameters are then applied to the case of the drying of a vessel of nuclear power plant. Then, the gas permeability is obtained through numerical computations. The choice of parameters has a large influence on the gas permeability of the concrete structure.
