Abstract: The field investigation results on large diameter tubes are presented to describe the reinforced concrete behavior during exploitation and maintenance at different temperatures. The cracks formation due to temperature alteration were analyzed in Pumped Storage Power Plant in Lithuania. The visual examination and instrumental methods were applied for the cracks investigation. In order to treat the results of the research statistical methods were used.
The results of investigations indicate that the surface of tubes is cracked due to the temperature alteration, precipitation impact and the effect of corrosion. Specific illustrations, calculations and guidance for maintenance were offered.
