Abstract: Electrically conductive cementitious composites have numerous such as in sensing, heating, active controls, lightening arresters and electromagnetic shields. In this paper, cement-based composites were developed with carbon fibers and carbon nanotube. Increases in the conductivity of the base cementitious matrix due to fiber and nanotube additions were measured using a high frequency alternating current. Results show that a nearly two orders of magnitude improvement in the conductivity is possible with carbon fibers and carbon nanotube addition. A hybrid combination of carbon fibers and carbon nanotubes produced the best response.
