Abstract: In this investigation, laboratory experiments were carried out to study the correlation between electrical resistivity and non-steady-state chloride ion migration coefficients (Dnssm) of concrete. Concrete specimens from various mix designs with resistivity ranging from 4 kΩ cm to 340 kΩ cm were used. The four-point Wenner method was employed to measure concrete resistivity and NT Build 492 was used to determine chloride migration coefficients. Experimental results show that a good correlation was found between electrical resistivity and Dnssm. Based on the relationship developed from this investigation, it is confirmed that electrical resistivity could be used as an alternative method to evaluate chloride ion permeability of concrete.
