Abstract: The repair of concrete deck slabs or balcony needs a special concrete design, and Self-Compacting Repair Mortar (SCRM) can be advantageously used for such repair operation. The rheology of the material is of prime importance and needs to be adapted to ensure the penetration of SCRM beneath the concrete plate structure as well as the adhesion to the old concrete substrate. Limestone fillers seem to offer interesting advantages as addition to these repair materials as they increase the workability of the final product. Several materials have been tested and characterised by means of a physical, chemical and mechanical test program: special tests have been realized to determine the water demand and the superplasticizer efficiency. A test procedure is also proposed to assess the efficiency and quality of the repair technique and material.

Keywords: self compacting repair mortar, limestone filler, rheology
