Abstract: The paper presents a procedure for testing of early age autogenous deformation (AD) and thermal dilation (TD). It is a draft RILEM recommendation, based on the work in RILEM TC195 DTD. The work comprised Round Robin Tests involving ten laboratories around the world. The laboratories used various test method designs and specimen geometries, but the results did not give any indication that one was significantly better suited than the other. Therefore, a test procedure is recommended rather than a specific method. The recommendation is primarily for testing of stress-inducing deformations of mortars and concretes, but can be used for pastes also (smaller specimens are then usually required).
