Abstract:
To model the post-peak response in compression, stress- inelastic displacement relationships are defined in the present paper. A unique function, able to characterize different cement-based materials, is introduced. Structural analyses are developed in members reinforced with steel bars and made, respectively, of ordinary concrete (RC) and High-Performance Fiber Reinforced Cementitious Concrete (R/HPFRCC). Referring to loadmidspan deflection curves of simply supported beams, only if the proposed function is taken into account, a good agreement between numerical results and experimental data can be obtained. Moreover, the higher ductility of R/HPFRCC beams in bending is clearly evident.
