Abstract: The Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI) has a considerable influence on the flow behaviour of the Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC) in the formwork. FSI describes the friction between a flowing SCC and the surface of the formwork. This paper includes a description of the influencing factors on the FSI at flow processes of SCC. These have been determined considering the respective literature concerning existing investigations on the FSI. The relevance of the influencing factors determined, e. g. the viscosity of the SCC, the condition of the formwork surface, the flow velocity and the fresh concrete pressure of SCC, have been verified in tests using a self-developed low pressure tribometer.
The evaluation of all test results confirmed a significant influence of the formwork surface, the fresh concrete pressure and the viscosity of the SCC. The frictional coefficient was determined in the tribometer tests. In this paper, the approach of an equation of state which describes the frictional coefficient depending on the formwork surface and the fresh concrete pressure is developed.
