Abstract: In order to promote adequate preservation of our construction heritage, the documentation of the historic structures is essential. The historic data can be directly related to the preserved structures. Were data is not available studies must be made based on construction techniques and materials used at the times of construction. The protection, preservation and continued viable use of historic resources demands of us the application of today's technology to yesterday's construction materials and methodology, recognizing and utilizing the strengths inherent in archaic materials and methodologies which have permitted them to withstand the test of time.
