Abstract: The draft of the interstate standard of CIS named «Structural Concrete Protection against Corrosion. General Requirements» has been developed and presented by Russia for approval. This Standard is called to replace out-of-date CMEA standards in the field of corrosion protection and to consider the new experience that has been saved up for last years and also to harmonize national and international approaches.
The developed standard establishes general provisions on designing of structural concrete protection against corrosion for buildings and the constructions intended for operation in hostile environments with temperature from a minus 70 up to plus 50°C for term of 50 years operation. At greater terms protection should be carried out under special requirements.
In the standard, detailed classifications of hostile environments and degrees of their corrosive action on structures are presented. Requirements are established to materials, including cements, fillers, water, additives, the concrete reinforcement, and to structures maintained in hostile environments.
For prevention of corrosive attack the standard stipulates primary, secondary and special types of structural concrete protection. Main principles of protection prescription are determined for various application conditions.
Separate chapters of the standard establish requirements for protection of reinforced concrete structures from electro corrosion, requirements for corrosion protection of embedded parts and connecting elements, and also safety requirements and preservations of the environment.
